Host a Workshop
Hosting A Grant Writing USA Workshop
Partner with Grant Writing USA to bring a two-day workshop to your area at a facility you provide. You will receive complimentary seats in the workshop and the opportunity to bring a great learning experience to your community.
Our event team will work closely with you to jointly promote your workshop and ensure the event is a success.
What is involved in hosting a workshop? You exchange a room for complimentary seats to the workshop for your people. You receive two seats up front and one additional seat per every ten registrations completed in our provided online registration system. We handle the marketing, registrations, advance shipment of the workbooks, and we carry a 2-million-dollar liability policy on each workshop. We will ask you to get the announcement out to your contacts. The room needs to have an internet connection, whiteboard or flip chart, and projector, and we prefer it to be set up classroom style.

The only catch.
There may already be an event in the planning stage in your area. Also, in some locations, we have longstanding relationships with our hosts. Some of those hosts expect and deserve our exclusive loyalty. Given those factors, we may have to respectfully decline your request.
How much does it cost to host a workshop?
Zero. Grant Writing USA covers all trainer expenses and provides all materials for the training. Assuming you incur no expenses related to promoting the event (which you shouldn’t – it’s almost all email) or the facility at which the event is held, you pay zero for the training. Grant Writing USA’s compensation is from registrations and Grant Writing USA solely takes the financial risk.
How many free seats do I get?
You’ll start with two free seats, and then, for every ten paid enrollments we receive, you’ll get another free seat. You’re welcome to use or give away those seats. You can even sell them and in so doing use the workshop as a fundraiser.

How many participants do we need?
Forty is our goal for each workshop. We find that a motivated host who follows our standard marketing plan combined with the efforts of our seasoned event team can successfully meet that goal. While we do not expect your agency to guarantee a minimum number of participants, we do need a room that holds at least forty attendees. If enrollments for your event exceed 70, we’ll most likely require a sound system for the trainer. Larger groups are fine, but only if the training room is suitable.
What about the training room?
It should be set up classroom style with ample room for participants to work. Please avoid gymnasiums, cafeterias, and other “acoustically challenged” rooms. As for equipment, rooms need a white board, a projector, and an internet connection. We will need web access to conduct live demonstrations of grant research strategies, which is always a popular and important part of the class. Your trainer will bring their own laptop computer.
When can we do it?
We’ll need at least eight weeks to effectively coordinate and promote your event. The further out you schedule, the better. Since our workshops are two days long, Monday/Tuesday or Thursday/Friday combinations usually work best. You pick your days, and we’ll do our best to make it happen.
What else?
We’ll rely on you to give us two local hotel recommendations. Your recommendations will be posted on our web site along with your event’s info and registration. Travelers will appreciate the local insight. We do not block rooms.
While not required, your guests will appreciate coffee in the morning and water, sodas, or juice in the afternoon. If you can make that happen, you’ll make a lot of people smile!

What is a Private/Custom Event?
If you have 25 or more team members or subawardees, we offer private events that can be customized to your needs. These events are typically one or two days depending on the material covered (writing or management) and can be scheduled with little lead time. We charge a flat fee that includes our professional trainer (travel, lodging and meals) and workshop materials for up to 50 attendees. If you’re interested in hosting a private/customized event, please call.
